That’s what current Subaru owner Jennifer J. in Ohio says about her 2012 Impreza. We hate to break it to her, but we keep making her perfect car even better.
Oh, sure, it’s still the stylish, versatile, fuel-efficient, wicked-cool Impreza she knows and loves.
But with improvements ranging from refined powertrain components and increased safety standards to more intuitive driver details and refined trim tweaks, well, Jennifer J. is just going to have to come up with a new word to describe the new 2015 Impreza.
Whether you choose the refreshed Impreza 4-door style or the slick, yet versatile, 5-door hatchback, you, too, might well find yourself at a loss for words.

In addition to the wireless music streaming and hands-free, voice-activated Bluetooth®1 features, the 2015 Impreza now offers the innovative Subaru STARLINK2 system, showcasing our sophisticated electronics: The 2015 Impreza boasts a versatile integrated music system featuring crystal-clear HD Radio™ with iTunes® tagging, as well as Pandora®, Aha™3, and STARLINK cloud connectivity, putting a world of music right at your fingertips.
The true audiophile will want to upgrade to a 7.0-inch high-resolution display with multi-
gesture touch-screen, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, and 36 mixed presets for the HD Radio.
Impreza has had the distinction of being an IIHS TOPSAFETY PICK since 2008, but the accolades keep coming in, and now it’s achieved a New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) 5-Star4rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
We gave it a standard Rear-Vision Camera – ideal for backing out of driveways, precarious parking lots, and any other situations in which you could use a pair of eyes in the back of your head.
Those who choose Limited and Sport Limited models have the option of including our exceptionally robust Driver Assist Technology: EyeSight.5 As you drive, two small cameras mounted near the rearview mirror monitor the road ahead. When it spots a concern – for example, a potential collision – it sounds an alert, signals a visual warning, and automatically applies the brakes if you don’t have time to react. Even if you’re simply headed down a lonesome stretch of country highway, it’ll alert you if you’ve strayed from your lane – in addition to obstacles ahead of you.
New one-touch lane change signals give you an additional level of driving ease so you can feel all the more in control, even when fresh challenges come your way.
Now is a good time to mention that the Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) tuning has been further finessed for a more traditional feel. What’s that mean, exactly? It’s been redesigned to mimic more traditional automatic transmission upshifting. It packs a smoother punch, even if you hit a series of hills.
Along with with the momentum-enhancing tuning to the CVT, we’ve improved fuel efficiency on the highway. In fact, now it’s projected to achieve 37 mpg6 with Subaru Symmetrical AWD. Turn on the standard cruise control and let it roll.
And, despite what’s going on outside your Impreza, it has improved on what you feel and hear inside by reducing NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). Who couldn’t do with a little less NVH?
Along with the high-end stereo and smartphone hookups, safety updates, and CVT tuning, we’ve also shown a little love to some of the basics: The steering wheel has been ergonomically refined, the instrument cluster is easier to read, and the air-conditioning vents have been redesigned to maximize airflow.
Rounding out the Impreza updates: On the outside, the Impreza has a newly designed front fascia and grille, High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights and exterior mirrors, an all-new rear spoiler, and a color wheel center cap. Furthermore, the Impreza 2.0i Premium features chrome window trim and 16-inch alloy wheels. The 2.0i Limited and Sport (Premium and Limited) additionally have a chrome shoulder trim and new turn signal mirrors.
